AI Enablement Program

Wilmar Sugar AI Hub

One home for our team's AI journey — a skills matrix to map and grow what you can do, a tools matrix to pick the right tool for each task, and a training calendar for the sessions ahead.

How to use this framework

  1. Read the tiers & skills — see what each level looks like and the 20 skills that make it up.
  2. Check the target matrix — find the target level set for your role on each skill.
  3. Self-assess — pick your name, score yourself 0–4, and tick what you want to learn.
  4. Follow your learning path — close the gaps using the curated resources, then save your development plan.
01

AI capability tiers

Four tiers describe how deeply a person works with AI. The current target for everyone is Tier 3 (AI Power User). Tier 4 (AI Champion) is an opt-in stretch goal we'll ask about later. Your tier is a guide, not a grade.

02

The skills, by category

Twenty concrete AI skills grouped into six categories. Each is a real thing you can do at your desk — not theory. Every skill is flagged with where it works: many run on basic Copilot, some need an enterprise licence or Claude.

03

Target matrix

Tier qualification — minimum level on each skill to reach each tier

To qualify for a tier you need at least these levels across the skills; each higher tier builds on the ones below it. Tier 3 (AI Power User) is the current team target, and Tier 4 (AI Champion) is the opt-in stretch goal. Hover a skill code for its name.

Your self-assessment & gap analysis

This is a repeatable assessment — do it now, then again in about six months to track your progress. Pick your name and (if you've done it before) load your previous plan to see how far you've come. Enter your current level (0–4) for each skill and tick "want to learn" for anything you'd like to develop. Click Save development plan to download an Excel — keep it as your record for next time.

Learning paths

Three staged paths. Start at Foundation (everyone), then move to the path that matches your role. Each step links to a resource in the table below.

06

Curated resources

Hand-picked, current videos and guides — free YouTube plus official Microsoft and Claude docs. Since we mainly use Claude and Copilot, each category lists resources for both. Start with the one marked ★ start here.

Our AI data safety rules (skill A1)
  1. Always use a company-approved AI tool.
  2. Never share sensitive personal information with any AI.
  3. Only share company information with our approved enterprise tools — Microsoft Copilot (Basic / 365), ChatGPT Enterprise, or Claude Team. Never with free or personal AI accounts.
  4. AI sometimes “hallucinates” — it makes things up. Always check anything important. Don’t trust it blindly.

The tools we use

We have several AI tools, each strong at different things. Read the cards, then use the matrix below to pick the right one for a task. Not sure which? Jump to the rule of thumb.

B

Which tool for which task

For each task, find the best starting tool. ★ = best choice · ✓ = works well · — = not suited. Many tasks have more than one good option — pick what you already have access to.

Heads-up on Claude + MicrosoftIn our environment Claude can’t currently connect to Microsoft 365 — no access to Outlook email, Teams or SharePoint. For inbox, Teams and SharePoint jobs, use Copilot or Power Automate. Claude still works fully on files you upload and on non-Microsoft connectors.

Rule of thumb

  • Working inside an Office app (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)? → Copilot 365.
  • Big PDF / contract, deep analysis, or build a live tool?Claude.
  • Quick draft, rewrite or summary — or you only have basic Copilot?Copilot Basic.
  • Repetitive file / email routing on a schedule?Power Automate.
  • Coding or ad-hoc number-crunching?Claude or ChatGPT.
